About the Video:
In the beginning it was a training ground for young men
preparing for the
Civil War. Fast forward nearly 150 years and its appearance is much different
but in a way its purpose is unchanged. Today, as they have for over 100 years,
The University of Wisconsin Football Badgers call Camp Randall Stadium their
home. Once again, young men enter into battle before delirious fans, grateful
for the memories they have produced.
For most fans of Wisconsin football, Camp Randall is a sort of Mecca.
A place that exudes history at every turn and inspires memories of hard
fought victories, friendship and family. Many of us can remember our
first trip to Camp Randall, whether it was to see Crazylegs
Hirsch, The
Horse Ameche, The Roadrunner, or the Great Dayne. Chances are you
remember much more than just a football game.
When the University of Wisconsin embarked on its most
recent
renovation of Camp Randall Stadium, the producers
knew it was the
ideal time to tell the stories of this time-honored venue’s illustrious history.
Hundreds of interview hours compiled over three years are edited into one
exciting, informative and unforgettable 110-minute
DVD.
Walk through the tunnels of time and relive some of its
greatest moments
with the people who were there. Hear and see the stories of O’Dea, Harder,
Hirsch, Ameche, Richter, Marek, Leckrone, Dayne, Alvarez and many more.
It’s time to rekindle those memories and relive the
great moments In the Red
Zone: The History of Camp Randall, an
officially licensed product of the
